Wellington School of Skills
146 pupils are currently on the rolls of this vocational school. The new Head has an ambitious plan for his school. Already changes have taken place with regard to communication. New partnerships with local industries are being discussed to secure more placements for the pupils.
The Head’s vision is to turn the school into a school of excellence. Currently 9 girls and 3 boys are in residence but the demand for more boarding capacity is high and the Head believes that a more nurturing and secure environment would enable more pupils to perform much better in the future.
Turenne is working with the Western Cape Education Department (WECD) to search additional funding to renovate and enlarge boarding facilities and open a new agri-processing stream at the school.
